Municipality of Rotterdam: Entrepreneurs Event
Tomorrow’s economy – “Anders kijken”!

25 October 2017

ISSUE

The Municipality of Rotterdam wishes to strenthen her relationship with her clients/relations and key accounts, namely SME companies and organizations in the business sector, health care sector, IT, Harbour/Maritime and the hospitality and leisure sector. The mutual network can be strengthened at an entrepreneurs event and it should be possible to share ideas and good examples. The World Cafe is just the right methodology for this.

IMPLEMENTATION

The entrepreneurs event takes place in the “Nieuwe Luxor” theater in Rotterdam and has the title “Tomorrow’s Economy – Viewed Differently”! In what way can we view all the changes? How can we learn from each other and boost each other? Very surprising, the session is opened by the more than 100 participants all standing together on stage, in front of an empty room. After the opening given by the chairman Paul Smit, moderator, introduces the themes of the World Cafe.

THEMES

The World Cafe is held in the Rijnfoyer, where, at round tables, the participants form a dialogue based on the following themes:

  • Innovation
  • Talent
  • Sustainability

Following three rounds the moderator summarizes all ideas and insights. What is written on the tablecloths is collated, worked out and fed back to the participants.

The Entrepreneurs Event, in short:

The “Nieuwe Luxor” is a fantastic location for a World Cafe, most certainly due to the view of the skyline of Rotterdam. The World Café proved to be an evening with a good turnout, pleasant encounters and new insights. Numerous new contacts were made and old contacts revived.

The Municipality of Rotterdam, together with Novella, organized the network event “Tomorrow’s Economy – Viewed Differently”.  An evening that started with a smashing performance by Paul Smit who ensured that our guests enthousiastically entered into a dialogue with each other in the World Cafe. An evening that brought about new insights and new encounters.

We can look back on a very successful event!
