Inholland:
Internationalization World Café
Launch of the Learning Community of Internationalisation in the domain of Creative Business

May 2022

REQUEST

The Creative Business faculty of Inholland University of Applied Sciences has the vision to be a domain that delivers professionals who leave their footprint in the international creative industry. Staying connected to each other and the world is the only way to ensure a sustainable, future-proof education program that enables students to become these professionals. In addition to internationalizing the curriculum, an international learning network is being developed. Novella – theworldcafe is asked to think along with a meaningful meeting.

EXECUTION

Inholland and Novella – theworldcafe.nl jointly design a program, in which on the one hand the methodology of the World Café is chosen, but on the other hand the Co-Design Canvas is used, an instrument that was co-developed by Wina Smeenk, lector Societal Impact Design at Inholland. This combination provides the necessary power to come to a meeting with impact! Rick Koster moderates the meeting together with Wina Smeenk. The language of instruction is English.

THEMES

The dialogue at the tables focuses on 7 subthemes:

Inclusive Internationalization
Towards a Strategic partner Network
Positioning our international programs
Add a SPARK to Internationalization
The Creative Future is international
Building an international research environment
Engaging International students
Due to the changing table companions, the dialogue takes place at the tables, where old tablecloths are written on and on the canvas that stands as a poster next to the tables. This allows for excellent deepening and concretization.

On May 12 we kicked-off the Creative Business Internationalizing learning network with an inspiring World Café, working on the key points of the international strategy of our domain. It’s been a great pleasure organizing this World Café. Excited to see so many colleagues and students participating in energetic discussions! Also a big thanks to Wina Smeenk, Novella/theWorldCafé and Rick Koster. We did it, guys!
